“I had no idea you guys were related” – I recently received this comment from a colleague of mine who I’ve worked with for over 10 years. He had no idea that my father, Steve Farber, a renowned thought leader on the topic of business leadership and author of four business books (soon to be five with “Love is Just Damn Good Business”) was, well… my Dad.
I was stunned.
How was that possible? This well known and successful colleague of mine had booked multiple speaking engagements together over the years for clients, and we’ve collaborated on even more proposals. We exchange books and ideas regularly (which in fact is what we were doing when I found myself staring blankly at my computer screen reading his comment over and over).
My Dad is five days out from launching his fifth book: Love is Just DAMN GOOD Business, Do what you love in the service of those who love what you do and it’s primed to make an impact.
For years I’ve been hesitant to recommend Pops, in fear of sounding biased in my team’s speaker recommendations to clients (overly insecure of an appeared conflict of interest perhaps, and we take our reputation seriously).
The truth is, he’s one of the best speakers on the circuit, sans ego, is a delight to work with, an amazing musician, and cares deeply about his customers, clients, and participants. In my opinion he’s one of the best speakers on the circuit, hands down, if not the best when considering total value (and offspring).
I love you Dad, the rest of the world is about to learn that Love is just Damn Good Business as well, I’m sorry it took so long for me to figure it out.
With Love, Energy, Audacity and Proof
