THE ANTICIPATORY ORGANIZATION™ The Missing Competency
If you want to jump ahead of the competition-at low risk to your organization-forget agility. Forget crisis management. The main skill you need to thrive in a business environment marked by hyperchange and uncertainty is the ability to accurately anticipate the future.
This may seem impossible. It’s not!
Daniel Burrus is one of the world’s leading technology forecasters and innovation experts. He is globally recognized for his exceptional 30+ year record of accurately predicting how technological, social, and business forces converge to create untapped opportunities. Based on decades of research and experience applying his HARD TREND methodology to leading companies worldwide, he has identified the missing competency: anticipation. With the Anticipatory Organization Model, Burrus enables business leaders to identify the Hard Trends that will happen, predict disruptions before they disrupt, and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Daniel Burrus uses illustrative examples to teach attendees how to separate HARD TRENDS- trends that will happen-from SOFT TRENDS-trends that might happen. When you learn to analyze and perceive trends this way, it is possible to tap into what Burrus calls EVERYDAY INNOVATION, solving challenges faster, and recognizing previously invisible opportunities.
This eye-opening and motivating presentation will teach attendees the key components of the new core competency-anticipation-and show them how to apply it to their work and life, which will accelerate both their organizations’ growth and their personal success.
Accelerating growth requires a new way of thinking about overcoming obstacles and acting on new opportunities. All too often, change comes from the outside in, forcing us to react by slipping into a crisis management mode, and putting out fires. This presentation is about opportunity management, identifying the driving forces of predictable change, driving growth strategies from the inside out, and taking control of our future.

LEADING WITH STRATEGIC FORESIGHT AND CERTAINTY
Agility and adaptability are no longer enough! Accurately anticipating customers changing needs, as well as technological changes, provides the biggest advantage. In times of unprecedented change and uncertainty, we need to ask ourselves what are we certain about? Strategies based on uncertainty equal high levels of risk. Strategies based on certainty dramatically reduce risk and produce superior results. Strategic foresight is based on the new Science of Certainty that will take your vision to a new actionable level by identifying the events that will happen in the future. Mastering these capabilities will position your organization to be the disruptor instead of being the disrupted.

“Daniel is one of the best speakers we have hired to date. He is energetic and keeps the audience engaged from start to finish. He has spoken to two different c-level audiences for us and both times has gotten rave revues which is not easy with this audience level. I would not hesitate to hire him in the future.”
Daniel provided excellent value to our worldwide sales conference this year in Taipei. His presentation was engaging, relevant, and inspiring. I especially appreciate his ability to understand both our business direction and conference themes, and ability to tailor his message to align well with both. Daniel also led an interesting exercise for the participants that left our management team with tangible ideas and inputs from the participants to drive future customer and market engagements.
“You were fabulous! You received rave reviews from our participants for the relevancy, insight and expertise of your presentation material and style. You are the only keynote speaker we have invited back numerous times. I am convinced the extraordinary success of your continued contribution is due in no small part to the enormous amount of time you put into each presentation by customizing it to fit the unique and challenging needs of our CMO audience each year.”
“Your thoughts on how to create an opportunity for change through a customer focus is the excellence our team is striving for. The framework you provided on innovation, creativity and customer value will be instituted as a management practice to enable the technology infrastructure group to take Wells Fargo to the next stage.”
We asked Daniel Burrus to be the closing speaker at a recent conference for CIO’s. That’s a tough slot to fill as participants often have meeting fatigue after several days of meetings and networking. However the room was full, anticipation was high and he engaged participants to the very last minute. He was an excellent speaker and rose to the challenge providing a perfect end to a great conference.
